¿ A Page One photo caption with a Jan. 29 article on the State of the Union address misidentified one of the lawmakers shown being greeted by President Bush. It was Rep. Steve Israel (D-N.Y.), not Rep. Collin Peterson (D-Minn.).
¿ A Washington Monday item in the Jan. 28 A-section incorrectly said that the current Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act authorization will expire Feb. 1. What is set to expire that day is the Protect America Act, an electronic surveillance law that updates FISA.
¿ A Jan. 28 Business article incorrectly said that the Small Business Administration awarded $314 billion in contracts in 2005. That amount was for the entire government.
¿ A Jan. 28 Business item incorrectly said that Michael Smith was named president of the National Association of Industrial and Office Properties. He will lead the group's Maryland-D.C. chapter.
¿ A Jan. 26 Religion article misstated the role of former president Bill Clinton in the New Baptist Covenant meeting this week in Atlanta. He is speaking at the event but is not a co-chairman.
¿ A Jan. 26 Business article incorrectly said that CBS settled a 2004 indecency fine with the Federal Communications Commission. CBS settled a violation related to the indecency fine, but the indecency fine itself is under appeal at the FCC.
CLARIFICATION
¿ A Jan. 17 Metro item about a Roman Catholic deacon in Silver Spring who was charged with sexually abusing a minor should have made it clear that the alleged abuse of a parishioner did not occur at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church.
