Below are compensation packages for superintendents in the Washington region. Totals include salary and bonuses, deferred compensation, credit for unused leave time, insurance premiums, contributions to pension funds, compensation for job-related expenses and funds spent on vehicles and drivers. Figures were provided by school systems and represent actual or projected costs for the fiscal year that ends June 30. In a few cases, where a projection was not available, compensation data from fiscal year 2007 were carried forward as an estimate for the current year. State pension contributions are calculated based on rates set by each state pension system.
