TORONTO, Jan. 30 -- Forwards Caron Butler and Antawn Jamison will learn Thursday if they will be reserves on the Eastern Conference all-star team in the Feb. 17 game in New Orleans.

The seven reserves for each conference are voted in by coaches, who submitted their ballots on Monday. Butler, who was an all-star last year, figures to be a virtual lock based on the fact that he's played even better this season, while Jamison, who was an all-star during the 2004-05 season, has made a strong case for himself as well.

Jamison played like an all-star on Tuesday night when he posted 24 points and 20 rebounds in an 108-104 overtime win over Toronto at Verizon Center.

He entered Wednesday's game at Toronto averaging 21.4 points and a career-high 10.6 rebounds and led all East forwards with 26 double-doubles. Also, Jamison has history on his side. In the last 10 years, no player who averaged at least 20 points and 10 rebounds on a team with a winning record at the midway point of the season failed to make an all-star squad.

"Those opportunities don't come around too often so if it were to happen, it would be great," Jamison said. "Not too many people have had a chance to experience it and I've had a chance to experience it once. I would love to have an opportunity to make it again."

Being an all-star could only help Jamison, considering that he's in the final year of his contract.

"No, that doesn't hurt at all," Jamison said with a smile and a laugh. "That's a good point."
