More Kid-Friendly Fun
Families visiting the robots can also check out the Manga Cafe and Reading Lounge at the opposite end of the hall from the robot exhibits. Manga is a popular style of Japanese comic books that includes Pokemon, well-known on this side of the Pacific. Manga books and magazines will be available to read, and manga author Robin Nishi will create a daily manga drawing that aims to capture the feel of the festival.
On Feb. 16 at 11, children 10 and older can participate in a free manga workshop taught by Nishi.
Older kids also may enjoy the "Paper Toy Live" performance Tuesday at 6 on the Millennium Stage by artist Shin Tanaka, whose one-of-a-kind creations resemble robots made out of paper.
Tanaka will demonstrate his craft on stage, inviting audience members to help assemble the toys. He has also designed a model Kennedy Center that can be made from folded paper. The design, and assembly instructions, will be available on the Kennedy Center Web site ( http:/
