Smoking Banned At NASCAR Track In Tennessee

Saturday, February 2, 2008

Bristol Motor Speedway officials are warning NASCAR fans that there will be no smoking in the stands this year.

A Tennessee law that took effect in October prohibits smoking in most public facilities, including sports arenas.

Speedway spokesman Kevin Triplett says he's received a lot of complaints, but also some calls from people happy about the ban.

The restrictions will apply to all seating areas, terraces and restrooms but not the concourses.

Smokers will be asked to extinguish cigarettes and cigars when spotted.
