Born: May 10, 1953 in Whittier, Calif.

College: Cal Poly Pomona.

Family: Wife Joy; children Rachael, Sarah, Danielle, Isaac.

Career: Playing career began in the Seattle Seahawks' inaugural season (1976). Played nine seasons in Seattle, with an all-pro selection in 1978. Wound up his career in Green Bay (1985), with the CFL's Winnipeg Blue Bombers (1986) and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers (1987). NFL stats: 106 starts in 140 games; 21,115 career passing yards; 111 TDs; 141 INTs; 67.3 passer rating. Is one of eight players in Seahawks' ring of honor. 1988-91 Boise State, offensive assistant/quarterbacks coach. 1992-94 Utah State, offensive coordinator. 1995-96 University of Minnesota, quarterbacks coach. 1997 Seattle Seahawks, offensive assistant. 1998-2000 Detroit Lions, quarterbacks coach. 2001-2007 Seattle Seahawks, quarterbacks coach. Coached quarterback Matt Hasselbeck to Seahawks-record 3,966 passing yards in 2007 and three Pro Bowl appearances (2003, 2005, 2007). Hired as Redskins offensive coordinator on Jan. 25.
