If we get past the question of why Congress is spending so much time on baseball and steroids [front page, Feb. 14], we get to what is wrong in Washington. As I understand it, the Republicans are after trainer Brian McNamee, and the Democrats are after pitcher Roger Clemens.
How absurd for these small-minded politicians to choose sides. Someone in Washington should be after the truth and should be going after both parties equally. If Congress can't get it right in small matters, why would anyone believe it can serve the people well in large matters?
For the political parties, this is all about taking sides and winning. It is never about making the country better. A plague on both their houses.
