April 3, 1987: A bride, groom and best man were killed less than an hour after their wedding when their limousine turned into the path of a racer in Nassau County, N.Y.
Some of the deadliest local traffic accidents:
Aug. 25, 1984: Seven people were killed when a man sped the wrong way down M Street SE and crashed into a bus stop.
Feb. 18, 1981: Eleven people were fatally injured in the crash of a commuter bus on Interstate 95 near Quantico.
April 23, 1979: Ten teenagers were killed when the pickup truck in which they were riding hit a tree and rolled over on Patuxent Road in Anne Arundel County.
