Great response to last Sunday's "Diner"-like quiz, one that Redskins owner Daniel Snyder might have given the many applicants for his head coaching job before settling on Jim Zorn, whose "maroon and black" team colors mistake at his first news conference was embarrassing.
But one dissenter noted, with some truth: "You're making a lot of noise about nothing. You should care about whether Jim Zorn wins. Redskins fans are spoiled rotten."
Nevertheless:
Alma mater of Hall of Famer Sammy Baugh? Texas Christian University (Slingin' Sammy was my father-in-law's favorite player).
Dolphins CB from whom Riggo broke free in '83 Super Bowl TD run? Don McNeal.
Name of QB Redskins traded to Eagles for Sonny? Norm Snead.
Redskins' kick returner who made team in open tryout (1972)? Herb Mul-Key, whom the late Howard Cosell once said was from None (pronounced no-nee) College during a "Monday Night Football" broadcast.
Darrell Green's greatest punt return? In the playoffs against the Bears, when he hurt himself making a cut and held his abdomen for the last 30 yards or so.
Nickname given in 1971 to George Allen's first team? I remember two: the Over the Hill Gang and Ramskins (in honor of the many Rams players for whom he traded).
One-time, one-game position (1990) of kick returner-RB Brian Mitchell? Quarterback in the infamous "body bag" game against the Eagles.
