Excerpts from letters received by the Monsignor W. Ronald Jameson, rector of St. Matthew's Cathedral in the District, asking for tickets to the papal Mass:

"At this point in my life, although my HIV is manageable, it is not at the point where my doctors want it to be and I just don't know what the future will hold and to be honest I am scared. This is why it is so important for me to attend Pope Benedict's Mass -- not only to be a part of history, to worship the Lord with the Pope but also to receive his personal blessing and hopefully continue the miracle of Pope John Paul and help me to live and be healthy."

"This year is a very special year for both of us. After years of trying, we have been blessed with our first child and although our baby still will be in the womb, it would mean the world for us to be able to attend this event with our new baby as we are so grateful and have so much to be thankful for."

"My husband just got back from Iraq after a long deployment [of] 2 years. . . . We would love to see the POPE, because the Pope represents the son of GOD, in one God, the father, Almighty, the representation of the last. . . . We need 7 tickets if that's possible."
