SANTIAGO (Reuters) - A 5.6-magnitude earthquake shook northern Chile on Saturday about 22 miles east-northeast of the city of Iquique, but local authorities said no damage or injuries were reported.

The quake occurred at 4:52 p.m. local time (2 p.m. EST) and struck at a depth of about 22 miles, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

"No injuries were reported. In the southern district of Iquique, power was partially cut," Chile's National Emergency Office said on its Web site.

In November, a 7.7-magnitude quake hit Chile's northern region, killing two people and injuring more than 100.
