A construction worker died today after falling about 30 feet to the ground at a Northwest Washington job site, officials said.

The 25-year-old man had massive head injuries and was pronounced dead soon after he was transported from the construction site at 14th and T streets NW to Howard University Hospital, said Alan Etter, spokesman for the D.C. Department of Fire and Emergency Medical Services.

The accident happened about 1:45 p.m., and police are investigating. The man's identity has not been released pending notification of family members.
