The basketball games pitting the D.C. Interscholastic Athletic Association boys' and girls' champions against their counterparts from the Washington Charter School Athletic Association, originally scheduled for tomorrow, will not be played.

"The DCPS basketball season is over," DCPS spokeswoman Mafara Hobson wrote in an e-mail. The games were "never officially scheduled through the DCPS athletic department."

Theodore Roosevelt Athletic Director Daryl Tilghman, whose boys' team was scheduled to play Booker T. Washington, said he wasn't informed of the plans to hold the games until Tuesday morning, when he read about them in The Post. He cited concerns about insurance for players, distribution of gate receipts and the hiring of officials, none of which, Tilghman said, had been agreed upon.

H.D. Woodson's girls were supposed to play Friendship Collegiate at 4 p.m. at Model, with the boys' game to follow.
