Games in which the Capitals had avoided back-to-back regulation defeats. That streak, however, ended this weekend's losses to Boston and Pittsburgh.

PERSONNEL DEPT.

Capitals C Tomas Fleischmann was scratched last night for the third time in four games, replaced by Eric Fehr. D Steve Eminger also was a healthy scratch. C David Steckel (broken finger), RW Chris Clark (groin tendon) and D Brian Pothier (concussion) were out. Pittsburgh RW Marian Hossa (knee) was sidelined.
