Someone slashed the tires on 13 buses parked at Falls Church High School, probably with a razor blade, Fairfax County police said today.

The vandalism, which flattened 28 tires, was discovered Thursday after an alarm sounded about 9:45 p.m. at the campus, at 7521 Jaguar Trail.

Fairfax public schools depend heavily on a fleet of 1,570 buses. About 110,000 students, or two-thirds of the county total, ride the bus to school each day.

Police asked anyone with information about the incident to contact Crime Solvers by phone at 866-411-TIPS (8477) or via e-mail at http://www.fairfaxcrimesolvers.org.
