Tired of winter? Be glad you don't live in Chicago, Illinois. That city is having its worst winter in three decades -- and its fifth-worst since 1871!
More than 52 inches of snow -- that's almost 2 1/2 times the length of this page -- dumped on the city from Dec. 1 to Feb. 29. As of last week, snow had fallen on more than half of the days since the beginning of December!
The ice and snowdrifts have been so bad that some bicycle messengers are refusing to pedal through them.
The city has spent $20 million dealing with the snow, $2 million more than what was set aside for that purpose.
Although no snow is forecast for the next few days, Chicagoans can't breathe easy just yet. Last year it snowed on April 15.
