No. 10 Thomas Stone vs. Parkville

When:7 p.m.

Where:Comcast Center, University of Maryland

Records:Thomas Stone 23-2; Parkville 18-6

Thomas Stone is enjoying its most successful season in 20 years; its only two losses this season were to Lackey. The Cougars start four seniors, with Malcolm White, Rodney Clark and Brandon Carroll all averaging in double figures. Like Thomas Stone, it's been some time since Parkville advanced this far, last playing in the state semifinals in 1987. The Knights have never won a state title. Junior guard Tom Cummings (13 points per game) and 6-6 sophomore center Josh Corbett (12 ppg) are the team's leading scorers.

No. 4 Laurel vs. No. 7 Springbrook

When:9 p.m.

Where:Comcast Center, University of Maryland

Records:Laurel 22-2; Springbrook 23-2

Both teams dominated their respective leagues during the regular season. Springbrook is led by senior guard C.J. Garner, who excels at getting to the basket and averages 21.1 points per game. But the Blue Devils are without 6-foot-5 forward and second-leading scorer Jamal Olasewere, who was ejected from their region final victory and must sit out one game. Laurel, enjoying its most successful season since winning a state title in 1980, features center Will Alston, and forwards Marcus Hebron and Killian Azah also are good rebounders. Second-chance points could be vital as the teams adjust to playing on a bigger court with different sight lines. A Prince George's County school has not won a 4A title since winning three in a row from 2002 to 2004. Teams from Montgomery County have won the past two.
