- J at Civilian, a group of amateur photographers, documents the District's other monuments -- you know, like Ian MacKaye. The longtime Washington-based punk musician appears in Nestor A. Diaz's color picture, one of 47 images of Washington hanging in "DCist Exposed." Diaz counts himself among the photographers who regularly illustrate posts for DCist, the go-to blog chronicling Washington life and culture that plucks images from photo-sharing site Flickr. Whether they're inside the National Gallery of Art or outside a lonely custard stand, these artists frame a portrait of Washington life lived at street level. As for a blog curating a show? The jury's still out.
