Boy Accidentally Shot In Domestic Dispute

"I have tried to stop them, but all of that frustration, he wasn't listening," he said.

White also talked about her stormy seven-year marriage. She said that her husband, a gunner's mate in the Navy, had returned less than a week ago from Bahrain and that the two planned to divorce.

"He was packing up," she said.

She said she decided to talk about the incident in an effort to share with the community the ordeal of domestic abuse. She had tried to leave her husband previously, she said.

"I left last year when I got tired of the verbal abuse. I saw the signs in my kids they were being withdrawn," she said.

Despite the tragedy, Kimeka White said she feels blessed.

"I feel blessed that my baby is still alive," she said. "I have two concerns: my two sons."
