So, When's the Election? What Iowa and New Hampshire could not decide in January, perhaps a tropical island will settle in June. Ah, but when will Puerto Rican Democrats cast those votes?
The Democratic National Committee has the vote listed as June 7 on its calendar, but island officials have said that is a mistake, created by a typo, and that local laws require it on June 1.
Today, the keepers of the Democratic National Committee's bylaws will meet by conference call to decide whether to change the calendar. They will also consider whether the contest will change from a caucus to a primary.
Mother-Daughter Day: While her Senate colleagues are on recess away from Washington, Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton (D-N.Y.) is returning to town. She and her daughter, Chelsea, are holding a fundraiser at DAR Constitution Hall on Wednesday, with admission ranging from $25 to $500.
