Cameras Make No Allowance for Mistaken Identity

Dear Dr. Gridlock:

"Speed Cameras" [Commuter page, Metro section, March 16] failed to mention the biggest problem with cameras: You can get a ticket even if you don't speed, if someone else driving your car does.

To make matters worse, it is very difficult to defend yourself, because the photo doesn't show the driver, and by the time you receive the ticket in the mail a month or two later, you easily could have forgotten who was using your car that day.

This should be a violation of due process.
