Truck Blast Kills Driver in Mass.

CHICOPEE, Mass. -- A driver severely burned when his tanker truck filled with fuel rolled over and exploded on a western Massachusetts interstate has died, authorities said. Investigators said Aaron Staelens, 43, swerved after a car struck him, causing his tanker to crash into a guardrail on Interstate 91 in Chicopee. The driver of the car was issued a summons to face charges including negligent motor vehicle homicide and reckless operation.

New Rules for Pierced Fliers

LOS ANGELES -- The Transportation Security Administration said it will change the way its officers search passengers with body piercings, after a Texas woman complained that she was forced to remove a nipple ring with pliers in order to board an airplane. The TSA said on its Web site that the officers properly followed procedures in that instance, but that the procedures must change. In the future, passengers can either allow a visual inspection of their piercings or remove them, the agency said.
