Neil Budde, the former president of Yahoo (NSDQ: YHOO) News and information group and the founding editor and publisher of WSJ.com, has joined DailyMe, a personalized news startup, as president and chief product officer. The Hollywood, FL-based company was started in 2005 by Eduardo Hauser, former founder of AOL (NYSE: TWX) Latin America (which blew up two years ago). The company has investment from Palladium Equity Partners, ZG Ventures and Global Solutions.
DailyMe is a more personalized Yahoo News, in some senses, and as Budde writes on his site, " Like Yahoo! News, we are and will be licensing and aggregating news content that is often available elsewhere. But we are starting with no built-in audience and must win over new, regular users by convincing you that we do understand your needs and continually are working to meet them through a combination of technology, smart design and editorial skill."
