Alex Ovechkin became just the sixth player in the past 35 years to lead the league in goals and points, joining Wayne Gretzky, Mario Lemieux, Phil Esposito, Jarome Iginla and Guy Lafleur, who combined to do it 11 times. On nine of those 11 occasions, the player was named MVP.
