Barb, You'll Like Sofia in the Springtime

Is it too late to switch things up in Crawford, maybe book a double wedding there next month?

In a moment of heads-of-state jocularity last week, President Bush reportedly told Bulgarian Prime Minister Sergey Stanishev that he'd make a great son-in-law. This, anyway, according to one of Bulgaria's largest newspapers, 24 Chasa, which did not cite its sources, but honestly it sounds too weird for anyone to make up. Still, the report kind of chafed the White House, which said it was "ridiculous" for the paper to imply that POTUS was trying to matchmake.

"The president certainly is not spending his time at NATO finding a match for either of his daughters," said spokeswoman Sally McDonough. Glad to hear it! 24 Chasa reported that the comment came during a break in the serious talk, while the two world leaders chatted about their exercise regimens.

Other reasons we don't think Bush was serious: Stanishev, 41, while single, has been living with journalist Elena Yoncheva for years. Also, he's a total socialist.

She's Never Old News: Jenna Takes the Gossip Crown

And the winner of the 2008 Reliable Source gossip bracket is . . . Jenna Bush. The tough matchup of First Twin and former First Daughter came to an end this weekend, when Jenna beat Chelsea Clinton by a (blond) hair.

Jenna came into the competition with strong stats: A wedding just a month away, a revamped image as an international humanitarian, and an upcoming tour with co-author/mom Laura Bush for their new children's picture book, "Read All About It!" Chelsea dominated her opposition on the campaign trail with smart-girl poise and a strong defense: "I don't think that's any of your business." And despite the news that her parents earned $109 million over the past eight years, she doesn't come off like a spoiled rich kid.

Chelsea spent the weekend stumping for mom, so the trophy goes to Jenna for giving us yet another D.C. sighting -- Saturday night at the Tantra Lounge at Indebleu with a few girlfriends. Chels, you need to get out more!

Angelina's Big Bro Comes to the Hill

A surprising new celebrity face showing up on Capitol Hill for the lobbying thing today: James Haven, who is scheduled to meet today with Dick Lugar, Barbara Boxer and others to talk about efforts to fight AIDS and malaria.

Not ringing a bell? Okay: He's Angelina Joli e's look-alike brother. Yes -- the one she kinda made out with at the 2000 Oscars! Wild, huh?

But that was a long time ago, and just as Jolie has transformed from Hollywood hellcat to globe-trotting humanitarian, Haven's changed, too. In addition to working in film production, he's a youth pastor at Saddleback Church, the SoCal evangelical megachurch run by "Purpose-Driven Life" author Rick Warren. Haven is also on the advisory board of Global Action for Children, which will usher him around the Hill. What about his little sister, Global Action's honorary chair, who is also in town this week? "She might" lobby as well, said Policy Director Leila Nimatallah.

HEY, ISN'T THAT . . . ?

· World-famous tabloid tots Maddox and Pax Jolie-Pitt roaming the Air and Space Museum yesterday morning, attracting throngs of photo-snapping tourists who nonetheless kept a respectful distance (maybe something to do with the security guard by their side). Maddox, 6, wore a navy blue hoodie; Pax, 4, wore an olive green jacket; asked a lot of questions as they toured Space Hall, Skylab and the WWI and WWII exhibits. The brothers came to D.C. with their mother, Angelina Jolie, who had business here with last night's Vital Voices Global Leadership Awards gala and at the Council on Foreign Relations today.

· Sergei Fedorov celebrating the Caps' playoff-clinching victory Saturday night with a dinner for about six or seven at Teatro Goldoni. The newly acquired center came in wearing a baseball cap but politely removed it.

"I voted for Clinton twice, but that's over with. These old black politicians say, 'Ooh, Massuh Clinton was good to us, massuh hired a lot of us, massuh was good!' Hoo! Charlie Rangel, David Dinkins-- they have to understand this is a new day."

-- Filmmaker Spike Lee , no stranger to controversy, telling New York magazine why he's supporting Barack Obama ("I think he's a visionary") instead of Hillary Clinton.
