Less than a half-hour away in Easton is the Crayola Factory (30 Centre Sq., 610-515-8000, http://www.crayola.com/factory). The kid-friendly destination has a factory tour and a number of hands-on exhibits. Admission is $9.50; hours vary.

Getting hungry from all the touring? Try Asher's Chocolates (80 Wambold Rd., 215-721-3276, http://www.ashers.com) in Souderton, about 40 miles away. Free tours are offered Monday through Friday.

For other factory tours in the state, check out http://www.factorytoursinpa.com.
