Road Closures in Effect During the Visit of Pope Benedict XVI

Wednesday

3 p.m. to 8 p.m. Michigan Avenue NE from Monroe Street to Irving Street; 4th Street NE north of Lincoln Road; Harewood Road NE from Taylor Street to Michigan Avenue.

Thursday

2 a.m. to 2 p.m. South Capitol Street SE from I Street to Potomac Avenue over the Frederick Douglass Memorial Bridge to Firth Sterling Avenue.

10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Harewood Road NE from Taylor Street to Michigan Avenue.

4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Michigan Avenue NE from Monroe Street to Irving Street; McCormick Avenue NE from Taylor Street to Michigan Avenue.

3 p.m. to 8 p.m. -- North Capitol Street will remain open to cars only. No truck traffic will be allowed from Taylor Street to Michigan Avenue.

In addition to closures, restrictions will be in effect:

8 p.m.Monday through 5 p.m. Wednesday, no parking on Pennsylvania Avenue between 17th and 26th Streets NW and no parking on Massachusetts Avenue from Waterside Drive to 34th Street.

5 p.m. Tuesday through 9 a.m. Friday, no parking on Massachusetts Avenue from Wisconsin Avenue to Observatory Circle. Masachusetts Avenue from Observatory Circle to 34th Street will be one lane in each direction.
