Emergency crews have turned off the power to Metro's tracks at the Silver Spring station after a man fell onto the track area.

Montgomery County fire department spokesman Pete Piringer said the man had some sort of medical emergency that caused him to fall. Rescue crews were called to the Metro station about 3:45 p.m. Friday.

Piringer said the man's condition is unknown.

As of 5 p.m., Metro was reporting delays in both directions near the station.
