PROJECTED NEEDS

The Metrorail system needs 220 more rail cars at a cost of $660 million to avoid exceeding capacity in 12 years. Officials project that nearly 1 million daily passengers will be riding by 2030, which is roughly 250,000 more people over the next 20 years.
