PERSONNEL DEPT.
Manager Manny Acta started Felipe López at second base last night, just his third start in the infield all season, and López responded by going 3 for 5 with a double, a stolen base and two runs scored from the leadoff spot. Acta said he likely will give López a start at shortstop today. "I need to get him involved," Acta said. . . . LHP Ray King retired the only man he faced last night, Jeremy Hermida in the eighth, meaning left-handed hitters are now 1 for 12 against him this year.
QUOTABLE
"I think the guys are kind of pumped that we're out of the cold weather and we're down here in Florida. It's a little more comfortable for them."
