Wednesday, April 23, 2008

GETTING THERE: Patapsco Valley State Park has numerous entrances. To reach the cabins in the Hilton Area, take Interstate 95 north to the I-195 east/Route 166 exit toward Catonsville and, yes, BWI. Merge onto South Rolling Road, then go right onto Hilton Avenue; the park is 1 1/2 miles ahead on the right.

STAYING THERE: The park rents six camper cabins for $50 a night on weekends through Sept. 29. Each sleeps four (a double bed and a bunk bed) and comes with electricity, heat and a picnic table. Guests must bring their own bedding, cooking utensils and provisions (minus water). The on-site camp host sells firewood, or collect your own on the grounds. A nearby bathroom has toilets, sinks and showers. Campsites are also available for $20 a night.
