PERSONNEL DEPT.
GM Jim Bowden said both OF Elijah Dukes (hamstring) and 1B Dmitri Young (back) are seven to 10 days from being able to play. Young is with the team and said, "Seeing a chiropractor helped a lot." Dukes is supposed to be at the club's facility in Viera, Fla., but he also had a court date to deal with a lingering probation issue originally scheduled for today in Tampa. . . . C Paul Lo Duca swung the bat yesterday and said his bruised right hand is getting better. He will hit again today.
BY THE NUMBERS
42
Number worn by Nationals' Lastings Milledge, Ray King, Dmitri Young and hitting coach Lenny Harris in honor of Jackie Robinson. The Nationals were on the road during the official celebration of Jackie Robinson Day.
QUOTABLE
"It was just nice to get to finally see it, after all the build-up and everything. I'm really happy for the ownership and the team and the fans. It's awesome."
