· What's special about Mindy Weisel's solo show in Georgetown isn't her big, gestural abstractions, here rendered in cool blue inflected with pink and purple (she's been manufacturing such pictures, dependably, for decades). Instead, attention should be paid to the tiny upstairs room where rectangular lozenges of glass ring the wall at eye level, solid colors alternating with patterned surfaces. Weisel inaugurated experiments with kiln-fused glass just a few years ago; the results hover off the wall in metal braces and shine like oversize Jolly Ranchers.
