PERSONNEL DEPT.

OF Elijah Dukes (strained right hamstring) continued his rehabilitation assignment with Class A Potomac by playing left field for the first time. Dukes went 0 for 2 with two walks while hitting leadoff yesterday. GM Jim Bowden said all signs were good on Dukes's hamstring, but the organization would not bring him to the majors until he starts to hit. He is 0 for 4 in two games.

QUOTABLE

"You got to forget what happened in the past. The past is the past. You got to work on what's going on right now."

LHP John Lannan
