RHP Jason Bergmann had his second straight strong start for Class AAA Columbus, where he was demoted April 12. He threw six scoreless innings, allowing three hits and two walks while striking out five. After posting a 10.12 ERA in his first two starts for Columbus, he hasn't allowed a run in his last two, a span of 14 innings. . . . RHP Luis Ayala pitched a scoreless eighth inning yesterday, his ninth hold of the year -- a total which puts him third in the National League.
