He threw six scoreless innings, allowing three hits and two walks while striking out five. After posting a 10.12 ERA in his first two starts for Columbus, he hasn't allowed a run in his last two, a span of 14 innings. . . . RHP Luis Ayala pitched a scoreless eighth inning yesterday, his ninth hold of the year -- a total which puts him third in the National League.
