PERSONNEL DEPT.
IF Ronnie Belliard got his first start since April 20 at Florida. Manager Manny Acta said Belliard had endured two ailments since that time -- an infection in his fingernails and a bad back. The club intentionally kept the injuries quiet because it didn't want the opposition to know Belliard might not be able to swing the bat. He was not placed on the disabled list because each injury affected him for only a few days. . . . CF Lastings Milledge didn't start for just the second time this year. Willie Harris hit leadoff for the first time and opened the game with a homer.
