I have a simple question regarding the creation of ethnocentric museums ["New Law Takes Step to Latino Museum," Style, May 9]: How many more of them will Congress authorize?

The Smithsonian Institution already has the National Museum of American History. Is that not an all-inclusive place to honor the experience of Americans of all ancestries? If not, I would propose that Congress create museums dedicated to my immigrant German, English and Norwegian American ancestors. What's fair for one is fair for all.

Of course, such a request would be foolish. If there were museums dedicated to the contributions of each immigrant group in America, there would be little room left for housing, businesses or government offices in the District. Congress is assisting in the further division of our great American melting-pot society, which is already facing growing divisiveness.
