The Montgomery County Humane Society has pets available for adoption by residents of Montgomery County and nearby jurisdictions at the shelter, through its foster program or through the society's Mobile Adoption Unit.

Available pets can be visited at the shelter from noon to 7 p.m. Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays, and noon to 5 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays. The shelter is at 14645 Rothgeb Dr., in Rockville. The shelter is closed Wednesdays and holidays. To see animals in the foster program, call 240-483-2846. For the Mobile Adoption Unit schedule, go to the society's Web site, http://www.mchumane.org, and click on "Calendar of Events." The site also shows other available pets.
