PERSONNEL DEPT.
On the same day the Nationals lost the services of Nick Johnson, the Harrisburg Senators gained the services of another first baseman. Dmitri Young, out since April 8 because of a lower back sprain, joined Washington's Class AA affiliate Tuesday to begin a rehab stint. Against Reading, Young went 1 for 2 with two walks. The Nationals planned to have Young return to the majors as a reserve, but Johnson's injury might change that. . . . Left fielder Wily Mo Peña appeared in the lineup last night for the first time in this series. Peña, who hasn't homered since September, spent the last two off days working with hitting coach Lenny Harris.
