- "Food for Thought: From Parents to Children" is a new spiral-bound booklet of 35 family-friendly, wheat-based recipes collected by the Wheat Foods Council with input from Chicago chef-restaurateur Gale Gand. Copies are $3.50; a portion of the proceeds benefits Spoons Across America, a nonprofit group that educates children about nutrition. To order online, go to http://www.wheatfoods.org.
- "Everybody Eats Lunch," by Cricket Azima/The Creative Kitchen (Glitterati, boardback edition 2008, $16), gives children ages 3 to 8 a global look at the midday meal eaten by their counterparts in five countries. There's a page for a child to add personal lunch facts as well. Recipes are hidden behind pull-out puzzle pieces, and the book is printed on sturdy cardboard. Fun. Available online through Amazon.com.
