A handful of other national parks contain golf courses. Three of those are in the District: Rock Creek Park, Langston and Hains Point. The following courses are on national park land elsewher e; other courses may exist on private land within parks.

· The nine-hole Wawona Golf Course in Yosemite National Park opened in 1918 and is a rare organic course, using reclaimed water and no pesticides. Info: 209-375-6572; http://www.yosemitepark.com/activities_warmweatheractivities_golfing.aspx.

· The Highland Links course hugs the coastline in Cape Cod National Seashore, with 18 scenic holes on bluffs adjacent to the Cape Cod Light. Info: 508-487-9201, http://www.truro-ma.gov/html_pages/facilities/golf.php.

· Riis Park Pitch and Putt, in Gateway National Park in Brooklyn, N.Y., is an 18-hole, par-3 course, with wide fairways. Oh, and it's in this charming little city called New York. Info: 718-474-1623; http://www.brooklyngolfcenter.com.
