Action Sports Tour Will Have Larger Presence

NBC Sports and MTV Networks announced yesterday that they have teamed up to expand their Action Sports Tour brand, which includes the Dew Tour, Winter Dew Tour and amateur Free Flow Tour.

While NBC Sports will continue to provide the majority of competition coverage and programming, MTV and MTV2 will focus on lifestyle programming, stories about the athletes, and video and community features for the tour's Web site. The addition of MTV and MTV2 coverage will nearly double the AST's annual programming to roughly 70 hours per year.

The five-stop AST Dew Tour is the premier summer-long action sports tour that kicks off June 19 with the Panasonic Open at the Camden Yards Sports Complex in Baltimore.
