Nationals reliever Saúl Rivera appeared in 85 games last season. This year, the right-hander again ranks among major league leaders in appearances; most of them -- as a telling sign of Manny Acta's trust -- coincide with close ballgames. In his last three appearances, however, Rivera's ERA has risen from 3.99 to 4.64. "He's not making good pitches," Acta said.
