Online video ad network, Tremor Media has hired former Tacoda exec Mark Pinney as global CFO, as the company prepares to expand overseas thanks to an unspecified investment from the European Founders Fund. The New York-based company plans to focus its initial efforts in the UK as a base for the rest of Europe, a spokesman told paidContent. Tremor raised about $20 million in two rounds of funding over the last two years, including an $11 million second round back in January. That last round was for general expansion efforts aimed at building sales staff. Tremor claims 92 million unique monthly users across the roughly 800 web publishers in its network.

Pinney was part of a mass exodus of Tacoda executives over the past two months; he had served as CFO but his last title at Tacoda was head of business planning. AOL ( NYSE: TWX) bought the behavioral targeting firm last September and it was subsequently folded into the company's Platform-A network. Since then, Pinney, along with about a half dozen other Tacoda execs, have left the company.
