Home town: I was born in New York City but moved to Arlington when I was 3 and still live in the house I grew up in.

Favorite memory from Pride festivals past: Me, dressed as Tina Turner, riding in the bucket of a cherry picker in the Pride parade, complete with pyrotechnics. Our theme was "Freddie's Beach Bar -- Simply the Best!"

If the Hero Award came with the prize of any superpower, what would you choose? Magical fairy dust, and a wand (like Tinker Bell).

What are the elements of a perfect weekend for you? Fun people, everybody getting along and having a great time, and mostly good karaoke singers. And, maybe, no drama!

Karaoke song you never, ever need to hear again:"Sweet Caroline."

Personal theme song for Pride Week:"I Am What I Am."

Why does Pride matter to you? Since I opened Freddie's seven years ago, we have been able to celebrate diversity every day of the year. It is nice to see the community all come together on Gay Pride Day to do the same thing.

What do you hope they'll write on your gravestone?"No parking."
