LAND
· Hotel Terra, a boutique property in Jackson Hole, Wyo., is offering four nights for the price of three through Sept. 30. Rates start at $379 a night, plus $73 taxes. After the discount, a four-night stay in late July costs $1,290 for two, including taxes (free night is credited at check-out). The eco-friendly hotel, a mile from the entrance to Grand Teton National Park and an hour south of Yellowstone, is built partially with recycled materials and offers organic linens. · The 7,000-acre Horseshoe Bay Resort in Texas Hill Country, about 45 minutes west of Austin, has a discounted Summer Family package through Sept. 4. The deal starts at $329 per night (minimum stay two nights) for a family of four and includes lodging, a $200-per-room resort credit, daily breakfast (worth $18 per person), unlimited soda wristbands for the children ( $3 per soda value), Kid's Club discount ($40), toys ($100) and spa/golf discounts of 20 percent on weekdays and 10 percent on weekends. · Carnival will begin year-round sailings from Baltimore starting in fall 2009. The Carnival Pride, a 2,124-passenger ship, will offer one itinerary to the eastern Caribbean and another to Florida and the Bahamas starting in September 2009. Introductory rate on the six-night Sept. 7 cruise starts at $439 per person double (plus $42 fuel surcharge and $43 taxes). · Voyages of Discovery is offering free airfare from Washington on several fall cruises aboard the MV Discovery. Deal applies to a 22-night itinerary departing Nov. 13 that includes two nights hotel in Lisbon and cruise from Lisbon, Portugal, to Buenos Aires; a 36-night cruise-hotel package that includes the Lisbon-to-Buenos Aires itinerary, plus an ongoing voyage to Antarctica; and a 13-night Antarctica and Falkland Islands tour departing Dec. 3. PACKAGES
· European Destinations is offering a five-night Best of Switzerland package for summer travel. Prices vary by dates. For example, a mid-July trip starts at $1,980 per person double and includes round-trip air from Dulles to Zurich on British Airways, five-day rental of a Volkswagen Lupo and accommodations with breakfast at the Hotel De la Paix in Lucerne.
