COMING TO BOYDS
United will host the second-division Rochester Rhinos or third-division Pittsburgh Riverhounds in the third round of the U.S. Open Cup, the U.S. Soccer Federation announced. The match will be July 1 at 7:30 p.m. at Maryland SoccerPlex in Boyds. United, which hosts Los Angeles in a league game two days earlier, failed in its attempt to move the match to July 2.

United MF-D Domenic Mediate is a distant cousin of PGA Tour veteran Rocco Mediate, who is in contention at the U.S. Open this weekend. During high school in Texas, Domenic watched Rocco play at the Byron Nelson Championship in the Dallas area.
