PERSONNEL DEPT.
With Tyler Clippard demoted after his start Saturday, Washington must recall another pitcher to take Odalis Pérez's next turn in the rotation. Though none has been chosen, Clippard has been ruled out as an option; he will remain in Class AAA Columbus. By rule, Washington could recall Clippard for a second time within a 10-day span only in the case of injury to somebody on its active roster. On Saturday against Seattle, Clippard pitched into the seventh, allowing two runs and earning his first win of the season.
