?Zed-Universal tie-up: Spanish mobile content company Zed has signed an agreement with Universal Pictures Digital Platforms to develop and distribute mobile content based on popular snippets and quotes from Universal Pictures' films. The deal will create new revenue sources for the studio through the creation of voice tones, ringback tones, and wallpapers. The content will be available on all U.S. carriers, both on and off-deck as well as through Zed's direct-to-consumer offerings including RingToneJukeBox.com and on-deck stores RealTone JukeBox and WallPaper JukeBox (release).

?Omnifone PC-Mobile access: Music subscription download provider Omnifone has launched a desktop edition of its unlimited music service MusicStation that is interoperable with PCs and mobile devices. The company said the new service will allow operators to provide an unlimited service on both PCs and mobile and will provide an alternative to music piracy. Omnifone, which already powers the subscription music services for Sony (NYSE: SNE) Ericsson (NSDQ: ERIC), Vodafone (NYSE: VOD) and Telenor, signed on its first customer for the new desktop service, Hong Kong carrier Hutchison Telecom (release).
