Last time Paul Lo Duca played for the Nationals, he was a catcher. The month he spent on the disabled list while recovering from a right hand injury has changed that. Before yesterday's game, he took outfield practice -- preparation for an eventual role in left field. During the game, he served as Washington's designated hitter, batting eighth. A day before, while still with Class AAA Columbus, he started at first base. Lo Duca said he's fine with the team's attempt to find a way of getting him at-bats, and he understands that Jesús Flores now owns the starting catcher's job. "I'm ready to play wherever they ask," Lo Duca said. "I understand the kid deserves to play, he's been unbelievable. So I'll try to help the team with whatever they need me to do."
